Rieck and Crotty, P.C. is a business law boutique founded in 1980 by Thomas W. Rieck and Jerome F. Crotty. The firm has adopted a philosophy of remaining a small firm to preserve and maintain the quality of the firm's professional services and to ensure that those services are rendered to our clients on a timely and personal basis.
The firm offers a wide range of legal services, with its primary emphasis on corporate, securities and tax law matters, trusts and estate planning and administration, contract law, banking, real estate law and litigation arising in all such areas.
The firm's clients include public and large private corporations located primarily in the Chicago area, but many of its clients are located outside the Chicago metropolitan region, including internationally. Further, representation of closely-held and family businesses, as well as banks, professional practices, and individuals, constitutes a major part of our practice.
General corporate representation, including corporate planning and control, employment relationships, ERISA matters and intellectual property rights, is a major part of the firm's business. The corporate practice also includes such complex matters as the purchase, sale and merger of businesses, documentation of private placements of securities, loans and other financial transactions, ESOPs and shareholder and partnership agreements.
The firm is regularly retained in litigation relating to securities law, employment discrimination, real estate, decedents' estates, and trusts, as well as contract, partnership, and shareholder disputes.
