Thomas Rieck is a graduate of Notre Dame University, a certified public accountant, and received his Juris Doctorate from Northwestern University Law School in June 1971. Tom Rieck and Jerry Crotty established the Firm in 1980.

Tom’s practice is concentrated in the following areas: representation of private and public corporations in all aspects of corporate law, including, but not limited to, securities; tax; business (including acquisitions, sales, and mergers) and succession, estate, and asset protection planning for the shareholders thereof.

Tom graduated from the University of Notre Dame and Northwestern University School of Law. In addition to being an attorney with over 40 years of experience in corporate, securities, taxation, and estate planning, he is also a Certified Public Accountant, having practiced accountancy with a national public accounting firm. Counsel to and Secretary and/or Board member of numerous private corporations and (previously numerous public corporations) headquartered primarily in the metropolitan Chicago area, with revenue up to $180,000,000.

Tom has attended hundreds of Board and Committee meetings in his legal career; approximately 80% have been as a member of the Board and counsel, and approximately 20% solely as counsel. Tom has been personally involved in hundreds of acquisition/sales/merger transactions, some solely as a Board member but most as counsel, in both manufacturing and service industries. Tom’s experience as a Board member and legal advisor to Boards of Directors, combined with his accounting and tax background, provides him with unique credentials to guide the acquisition/sale/merger transaction from inception to consummation.

Since 1994 to date and from time to time, Tom has been a Member of the Board and Chairman and/or member of the Compensation, Audit, and Nominating Committees of the Board of SigmaTron International, Inc. (NASDAQ: SGMA), an electronics contract assembly manufacturer, with headquarter offices in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and subsidiaries and/or affiliates in China, Taiwan, Mexico, and California, and annual sales in excess of $180,000,000.

Tom’s hobbies include Notre Dame University (especially football), wine, travel (Midwestern U.S. and Europe), bicycling, his family, and his Lhasa Apso dog, Griffin.
